This year, the year I started with The New Minority (2009) is my 25th anniversary playing the drums. I took drumming up because I wanted a very hard challenge that I felt I had absolutely no ability for whatsoever, unlike my art. I just wished that I could be a part of that wonderful world of music so I pressed on and did it. As a man thinketh so he is and here I am. My first bands were around my college years and time spent in Baltimore from 1984 to 1989. Memories Of Mimi's Mammaries, Marsha Brady's Period, Quiet Storm, Majesty, and Big Black Cat. Then I took a 20 year break after getting married but I kept playing solo all that time. Harmonic Soul came after the hiatus and now The New Minority. My goal is to move more into Jazz and develop my playing style further into a wider and wider range of sensitivity and diversity until one day I laugh at the very notion that I ever thought I could not learn to play the drums. I am not the best drummer in the world and am not professionally or classically trained but by golly, I sure enjoy it and it has truly enriched my life as I knew way back then that it would when I set out to do it. Here I am with my band mates on the night of my

"25th Year Of Drumming Anniversary."

If you count that first set that I got for Christmas at age 4, then I guess it is really my 40th Anniversary. Ha ha ha.
